Location Scouting!

Yesterday, Elaine, Siobhan and I headed to RiverCross Ranch in Springbank, AB as a potential location to shoot The Weather. RiverCross Ranch was built as the set for a TV series called Wild Roses. The series didn't last long as it was in competition with the family favourite, Heartland. Rather than letting the set be torn down as was intended, the Springbank community came together to help maintain it. A foundation was added to the set, and RiverCross Ranch is now home to a community library as well as the charity organization ROARR. While the Ranch is no longer open to host outside events, filming is still welcome because of the ranch's roots in the industry.
